Acting Chairman of the Board of JSC “NC KAZAKH INVEST” Aibol Argyngazinov and Deputy Director of the Investment Attraction Department Assel Suankulova held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Kazakhstan Shri Y.K. Sailas Thangal. During the negotiations, the parties discussed prospects for expanding investment cooperation and implementing joint projects in various sectors of the economy.
Aibol Argyngazinov noted that Kazakhstan and India have significant potential to strengthen their partnership. According to him, Kazakhstan is India’s largest trading partner in Central Asia; however, the current level of investment and trade turnover does not fully reflect the potential of bilateral cooperation.
“Kazakhstan is open to Indian business and ready to support projects at all stages—from the idea to the launch of production. We see great prospects for joint work in such areas as manufacturing, agro-processing, pharmaceuticals, and IT, and we would be glad to see more Indian companies among our partners,” he said.
The Ambassador of India noted that Kazakhstan has established itself as a reliable partner and one of the most dynamically developing economies in the region. He emphasized that the country has a favorable investment climate, modern business support institutions, and plays a key role in ensuring Central Asia’s connectivity with global markets.
In 2024, trade turnover between Kazakhstan and India amounted to USD 974.9 million. Kazakhstan’s exports increased by 3.3%, reaching USD 464.2 million, while imports from India amounted to USD 510.7 million. Since 2005, the volume of direct investment from India to Kazakhstan has exceeded USD 500 million.
The parties expressed their readiness to intensify work on new areas of cooperation and agreed to continue the dialogue. It was noted that strengthening the investment partnership between Kazakhstan and India will contribute to the growth of mutual trade and the creation of new opportunities for business in both countries.
