The Kazakhstan-Czech Business Forum was held in Prague with the participation of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nazira Nurbayeva, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Czech Republic  Bakyt Dyussenbayev, the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Petr Třešňák, and the Deputy Chairman of the Board of “NC “KAZAKH INVEST” JSC, Ruslan Ibraimov, reported Kazakh Invest's press service.

The forum aimed to expand economic ties between the two countries, develop business contacts, and mutually beneficial cooperation between Kazakh and Czech entrepreneurs.

At the event organized by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in the Czech Republic and “NC “KAZAKH INVEST” JSC, the heads of the ALE “Union of Mechanical Engineers of Kazakhstan,” “CzechInvest,” “Skoda Transportation” and “Transco Bohemia,” as well as several other representatives of government bodies and private business of two countries had an opportunity to present their case. In general, more than 100 business representatives from the two countries took part in the forum.

According to the forum participants, the event once again demonstrated the common active interest of the two countries in implementing joint projects. Being a strategic partner of Kazakhstan in Eastern Europe, the Czech Republic has invested over $308 million in Kazakhstan.

In her speech, N. Nurbayeva noted the further need for bilateral cooperation development and invited Czech businesses to implement investment projects in Kazakhstan.

“We see growing interest of Czech business in launching joint projects in Kazakhstan. Over the first nine months of 2023, trade turnover between the countries increased by 77.6%, reaching $482 million. The portfolio of Kazakh-Czech investment projects consists of 10 projects totaling more than $135 million in mechanical engineering, agriculture, defense industry, and logistics. However, we have significant untapped potential for expanding and deepening our economic ties,” noted the Deputy Minister.

At the end of the event, bilateral meetings were held in B2B format for a more in-depth discussion of the possibilities of bilateral cooperation.
