Another acceleration session was held at the AIFC platform to identify systemic problems and barriers hindering the implementation of investment projects in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries of Kazakhstan. The event, organized by JSC "NC" KAZAKH INVEST ", was attended by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nazira Nurbayeva, Vice Minister of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhandos Burkittbayev, as well as representatives of governmental bodies and medical companies, such as LLP "SK-Pharmacy," NAO "Turar Healthcare," JSC "National Holding QazBioPharm," LLP "Dolce Pharm," LLP "Roche Kazakhstan," "Pfizer Export B.V," JSC "Ordamed," "Orhun Medical," etc.

Acceleration sessions involving representatives from the private and public sectors of the industry are regularly conducted by the national company KAZAKH INVEST. The purpose of the sessions is to identify and eliminate barriers hindering the implementation of investment projects, improve the investment climate, and business conditions in the country. This practice contributes to the creation of a productive dialogue between government bodies and the private sector to identify the most effective solutions.

Opening the session, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nazira Nurbayeva noted that the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries have great potential and are also priority areas, taking into account the President's instruction to increase the share of domestic pharmaceutical production in the country to 50%. According to her, there is a growing demand for pharmaceuticals in the country, so improving current regulatory norms will contribute to the modernization of the industries and the influx of new investments. Nazira Nurbayeva emphasized that acceleration sessions with the business will help identify systemic problems of investors, which will be brought to the attention of the Investment Headquarter.

Several acute issues were raised by the participants of the event - these include the lengthy approval of innovative drugs for the market (5-7 years), the problem of pricing regulation of drugs, frequent changes in legislation, imperfections in legislation in the field of patent protection, as well as logistical problems.

The next acceleration session will take place on March 16 and will be dedicated to issues in the oil and gas chemical industry.
